# Get Alert

One alert, if its dashboard is one you can view — or if it is gone.

`orphaned: true` means the dashboard this alert was created on has been deleted. Nothing evaluates it (the tick skips it), it cannot be edited or test-run, and the only thing left to do with it is `DELETE` — which works. `registration.detail` says the same thing in a sentence; `orphaned` is the field to branch on.
