# Get Lineage

Lineage subgraph around one node: what it is built from (`up`) and what uses it (`down`), derived on read from existing columns — no lineage store.

Node ids are `<type>:<id>`. Every edge endpoint is in `nodes`. A node the caller may not view is present with `hasAccess: false`, a redacted label and no `href`; the walk does not continue through it. `truncated` is true when `depth` or the node cap stopped the walk.

**Read `modelledTypes` before reading an empty `edges` as "nothing depends on this".** It lists the node KINDS this walk looks for; a kind absent from it was not looked at, and no `depth` will reveal it. `truncated` is a walk-limit flag only and stays false in that case — the two are separate fields because they have different remedies.
